Home > Islands Getaways
The first island we visit is Sribuat, a fairly large island with a mountainous spine of jungle running down the middle and shallow emerald green bays where the boat can pull up right on the beach.
The beach at Sribuat is perfect for swimming- clear and warm as a bath with gentle waves crashing on white sand. Further out, there are pretty coral reefs where you can snorkel amongst parrot fish and "nemo" fish darting amongst anemones, and see massive brain coral and incredible green and purple soft corals that look like an underwater garden.
For those not snorkelling you can make use of our sea kayak to paddle along the shoreline and explore the calm clear bays of Sribuat.
We spend about an hour, snorkelling and swimming at Sribuat then hop back on board for a boat ride past the numerous scenic islands dotting the marine park, deep turquoise water shimmering in the shallows, rocky shores with waves crashing hard against the rocks, and caves looming under steep cliffs.
The next stop is a trio of islands known locally as the three cups, because from a distance they look like inverted tea cups lined up on a table. The islands are tiny blobs of jungle, rock and palm trees with beaches of powdery white sand lapped by soft clear waves. We enjoy a barbeque lunch on a picture perfect beach and you can then spend about two hours swimming, snorkelling, kayaking, or exploring the many rocky shallows and inlets.
After lunch we will explore the other two cups (!) then start heading back, stopping at Tekong Burong, known locally as the bird island, on the way. We arrive back at port by about 5pm when the sun is just starting to sink behind the casuarina trees fringing the shore. We start heading back, either to the hotel if you’ve joined us for the fishing package (the following day will be spent fishing) or to Singapore if you’re just joining us for the day trip. We stop in Mersing for dinner and arrive back in Singapore by about 10pm.
