Charter Comparison

We would like to share with you the differences between Bluesails Sportfishing & other fishing charters/guides operating in K.Rompin from S’pore and Malaysia:-

1. With Bluesails Sportfishing the use of quality Shimano & Penn fishing gear & accessories is free- there are no rental charges. Fishing package rate & details are indicated clearly on our website.
2. 4-star resort stay with arrangement & cost of late-check out charges taken care of before 7pm (based on 4 persons). We don't believe in putting clients up in a cheap motel & packing as many clients as possible into the boats just to make more in volume.
3. Option for buffet dinner at the resort beach/pool BBQ dinner at no extra charge.
4. Personalised incidental transport (based on 4 persons), trip arrangement & professional crew.
5. Bluesails main veteran fishing guide is a certified IGFA Captain & has a certified MPA (Maritime & Port Authority of S'pore) Power Boating license (Serial No. 55362) since 2002 and PADI diver. You therefore have 2 certified skippers onboard at any given time.
6. Bluesails guides have international & local billfishing knowledge, expertise & safety standards for optimum results. We’re in Rompin every single week throughout the entire season, and are therefore kept up to date with local fishing conditions. We are of the opinion that the majority of charter guides are merely acting as tour guides (NOT fishing guides) & are totally dependent on local skippers for the results.
7. We cater to all types of fishing such as trolling with teasers, lures & skirts, fly-fishing, artificial bait casting lures & poppers, free & balloon-baiting, & bottom fishing.
8. Another crucial difference to note is that billfish close to port are constantly pressured by the local fleet / charters & are sometimes difficult to bait even when found in numbers. Other charters are often not willing to burn fuel to go further afield for the Sails, but Bluesails takes you to the best fishing grounds regardless of the fuel cost or how far we must travel. Therefore, you can feel confident that we will provide you with the ultimate fishing experience. We believe that there's a big difference between merely fishing for Sails (most charters guides) & actually catching them.
9. Bluesails Charter holds an all-time inspiring K.Rompin record catch of the largest juve Black Marlin(abt 70kg)in June 2008, breaking it's own previous record of abt 50kg set in 2006 since game fishing began here more than 10 years ago. The relatively rare juve Black Marlins that are caught are usually below the 25kg range.
10. Our guide has an excellent working partnership with the pioneer skipper who has more than 20yrs experience fishing & boat building in Rompin, and we have the most comfortable/ spacious boat amongst the small fleet of boats in Rompin. (No balancing act required as it has the widest stern for Sailfishing action.) The boat is also fully insured.

TABLE FARE KEEPS

Any table fare such as Spanish mackerel, dorado, grouper, snapper etc are not an entitlement, but will be at the guide’s discretion. We’re mainly concerned with sport fishing which could mean releasing by-catches, or else the native skipper keeps them for his own consumption or to supplement his income. This is quite a common practice for charters globally.
